The Money Pit- Lockedup5's YJ on Tons-- Updated Phase Two 2016-- 6.0 swap!!!

Yeah I was torn on what to do. Kinda had my mind set on MRVB til I talked to Jeff M. And it just makes sense to let the tranny do its own thing and save that $300 on the VB. Glad to hear someone else likes it like this.
Chris did you cut the gate out?

wondering why you are going to change gears in the Atlas?
I run a T-350 trans, behind a Worn out throttle body 350, with a Atlas 4 speed, and only use the low low occasionally such as VERY steep hills going down(less need or no need for brakes) or hill climbs when I break traction. I stop it, and slam the low low lever into low and drive down the hill instead of sliding.I have never seen other than what I wrote of, where I needed more gear.
So you with much more power and torque, a trans with a lower 1st gear, same 3.8 in (now) t case, same geared(4.56) in the axles, and same size tires.
Why go to the expense of changing your t case gears?

BTW tell Ashley she needs to work some OT so you can afford the build!

It wasn't really going to cost me anything to change atlas gears. A friend was going to swap with me but he decided not to which is fine. That's why I decided to go ahead and put the 700r4 gears in the th350. I'm hoping that will put me about right but if not it won't cost me but $50-60 to go back to the 350 gears.

And yes Ashley is going to have to get a second job jus not OT. Lol because the brown truck is pulling in about every other day right now. This is what he brought today.

Sanderson ceramic coated shorty blockhuggers!!!
Should be picking up my tranny Wednesday.

I can't wait to get all the parts together so this swap can get started. I do like to document what parts I have collected while they are new. I don't have much to go!
Here is what I got today. Thanks to Ryan at 4Wheel Parts. He's awesome!! Hopefully I won't have any cooling issues with this.

I also got my atlas adapter and 27 spline input for my atlas this week.

I got this a couple weeks ago and forgot to post it. I figured while doing all these upgrades this winter I'd try to make my kids a little more comfortable and safer. They were sitting in the stock YJ seat with only lap belts. Hopefully this will be a little better for them.
36" Corbeau suspension seat with 2" 4-point harnesses with pads.

Do you have a support ring on the rear of the Atlas?
Th350s don't like holding them up.

I've heard about the support ring. Where do I get one and how and where does it bolt?

Edit: OK I googled them. There are quite a few to choose from.WOD, TMR, Genright,....
Which is the best or does it really matter?

My T case support from MUD is attached to my skid. So far, no issues, but....................

If you have room to make an independent mount, I would, for a couple of reasons. Biggest reason is, I am always Leary of landing hard on my skid. even with soft mounts, too much upward movement, and the tail housing will crack, and instant fire. Also, there will be times when you need to drop the skid plate, if it's attached to the skid, you have to support it somehow, just makes it more of a PITA to do.

Yeah would be nice to have two true cross members. I may add a smaller one just for tcase

If you make a crossmember for just the rear mount, I would tie it to the trans mount crossmember. Don't want the tcase moving different that the trans
