The Money Pit- Lockedup5's YJ on Tons-- Updated Phase Two 2016-- 6.0 swap!!!

What brand and how much plastic/rubber should be protected in doing the acid wash? Need to clean up my ls2 before I start the new project.

Looking good

Went and checked this thing out today and I have to say David is doing an outstanding job! I just failed to take any pics of the progress.
It worked out great to use my original tranny cross member and the atlas cross member and motor mounts turned out awesome.
A week or so on plumbing and wiring and this thing will be ready to fire. I can't wait!!
I'm still collecting the last few parts to finish up.
Since I'm changing engines I couldn't use my york210 compressor any more so I had to go a different route. I decided on an electric pump and I definitely wanted it to be very reliable since I run an ARB locker so I decided to go with an ARB dual compressor. I'm hoping it will give me many years of good service. Now I just have to find a place to put it.

a word to the wise. rubber gloves when using a lot of wheel acid. made for a trip to the ER yrs back. starts eating the flesh under your fingernails. washing hands just helps the acid. had to wear rubber gloves with a solution for a week.
looking good, and what luck with the driveshafts and mounts. didn't know u was being slack this time around. lol. being laid up+ reading too many friends build threads= killing me. ive gotta get started on my new 1. im debating whether to follow your lead and start the build with an ls or like I had planned with 1 of these sbc sitting at the shop with pane

Coming right along. You should be back in the seat before long. My buddy just finished up a 5.3 swap on his S10 truggy. He kept it stock for now but is super happy with the power upgrade from his 4.3. I imagine you will be very happy with the outcome of this swap!

Shifter console completed! Just waiting to cut the hole for the shifter and install it. It will bolt directly to my security console. The cable will need to run through part of the security console.
Hope it looks good in the jeep. I'm not sure.

Artec

Yeah they are artec brackets. We just welded a piece between the lower pieces hoping to cut down on movement that has been breaking welds on these type of tanks.

Did you call them and get the inner-lined tank? I also think baffles can go a long way in preventing cracks.
