What have you done for your health today?

Last year I brought an extra doorframe mount pullup bar I had to work and put it on the breakroom door. It's gotten a lot of use and has been a hit. At the beginning of this year, I proposed a challenge to a couple of the other guys: 1 pullup a day, for each day of the year. 1 on Jan 1, 31 on Jan 31, 32 on Feb 1, etc. Today we hit 40. I'm really starting to feel it, both good and bad. Did 60 on Tuesday just for gits and shiggles, but struggled to do 39 yesterday, haha. Regardless, I've upped my 1 set max from about 5 pullups when we started to a solid 9 this week, and regular sets being 5-7 instead of 3-4. I also brought a couple of dumbbells this week so we can do pushups and we will probably catch that up to the same #pushups=#days deal. Fortunately we are moving in April and the new building won't have a traditional doorframe, so we will top out around 100-120 pullups/day.

For physical: Quit drinking, pills, pot, biting my nails, and smoking
For spiritual: Quit drinking, pills, pot, smoking and porn
I asked God through Jesus on my front porch to forgive and help me to go and sin no more. I was sincere when I asked and completely sick of myself. He had mercy on me that day. I felt his presence and felt a heavy weight come off my shoulders. That was June 17, 2022

He literally set me free from all the above and made me a new man. People that knew me say "what happened to you?" Lol

Every day For my spiritual and physical health I die to the desires of the flesh. Every day I do that I thank Jesus who saved me and enables me.

Just sayin

Second week on the Flintstone weights for me and @jcramsey. Found a 50lb bag of sand I had and added that to the "equipment" . Just trying to get these little chicken legs a little stronger and not blow anything out

Flintstone weights, I’m going to have to use that term.
At F3, we often use the 8x8x16 concrete blocks, they are about 38 pounds each and only cost a couple bucks.

Back climbing after a pulley rupture in December.
Taking it easy but having fun.

Yoga on Tuesdays, Core on Fridays, climbing Thursdays and Sundays.

I got a couple of coworkers into the idea of doing a half-Murph for Memorial. I can do the push-ups and squats fine, runs are no problem, but I need to train on pull-ups and do it all again when I add the vest.

Stage 10 of the C25K plan is complete.
Now the low intensity intervals get small quick. Lungs arent coming on as fast as I'd like. Legs feel fresh right after - but Im just oxygen starved.
Maybe Lance and EPO was onto something...

Haha

Weighed in 226 this AM. Diet has been mostly good. Ive got to focus on getting more protein in.
As Ive gotten my appetite and food drive under control - and with a lot going on in my life right now (all good - just a ton of volume of ...stuff...) I find myself almost forgetting to feed. I dont want this health journey to turn into muscle wasting.

As I type this - the background music just threw this line into the cosmos and it seems apropos.
Working down my third cup of coffee
Waiting on the grey to burn away
Seems the world outside my window is getting colder
Pray for my shoulders

I finally just stopped turning on the TV
All it ever does is bring me down
Til this old wicked world starts turning slower
Pray for my shoulders

Heaven only knows
How time can take its toll
Lay burdens on a soul along the way
The weight can hang so heavy
It gets harder standing steady
And holding on gets tougher everyday
So tonight when you get on your knees won't you pray
For my shoulders

I was planning on a nice 24 mile bike ride but ended up only riding 10. Spent about 1.5 hrs shoveling and raking out dirt in my back yard.

Pics of the stool you use to get to the pull up bar, please.

Few weeks ago I decided to go back to Yoga.

Shouldn't have stopped, I feel so much better !!!

Also, I start to see the beauty of a very simple life with tons of routines. I've always been in the mindset of "be wild and free, go do unexpected shit all of the time" but now this POV start to conflict a bit with my newfound appreciation of structure and discipline.

But I still want to go on adventures. The irony :D

Do you even need to workout if you wear a Crossfit shirt? I pretty sure it's like stickers on your racecar.....easy 20lb increase across the board on all the big lifts just by wearing it. Me and @jcramsey still at at least 4 mornings a week for 30 minutes. I hate getting up early but it's nice to have somebody else there that would rather be sleeping too. Pretty sure I've pick up about 2 lbs from lifting. I also traded in my toaster studel breakfast for 2 eggs. I thought about replacing my lunch Coke and Nutty bar but I don't see that happening anytime soon 🤤

This weekend is my daughters 5 k I’ve been training for.
So I’ll either complete a goal or kill over dead trying.
Weather work and lack of motivation have derailed my ideal training schedule.
I did however yesterday complete the full 35 minutes unbroken “run” for the first time.
I’m on pace.

Mentally I feel better after I push myself.

Physically my joints are disclosing my years miles and abuses.

Looking toward to a carb load referd post run saturday

Well, I “graduated” from the pulmonary therapy rehab class I was taking for my post Covid Syndrom.
After 10 months of therapy, I actually achieved a 100% improvement in breathing and walking.
I was actually surprised ….. I really don’t feel like I made the progress, but the last day evaluation shows it.
Bad thing is ….. even that wasn’t enough overall change in my condition to actually change any diagnosis or prognosis.

I did finally get SS disability and have received the back pay …. Now just waiting on what the disability company says has to be repaid.

Things are better overall because I do seem to have “good” days more than “bad”.
But with the way the symptoms run, I have had a fever for the last 8 weeks now.
