What have you done for your health today?

Not cool.

Let us know how it goes today.
X-rays this morning and another prescription. Waiting on insurance to approve an MRI.

Not going to go back through all 116 pages to see if this has been shared yet, but I have a pretty interesting app that I’ve used a few times to help grocery shop.

Yuka

It rates and tells you what’s healthy and what’s not healthy.

Take a picture of the barcode and it brings up the item. Tells you what’s good and bad about it and recommends healthier options.

The fact you scanned little Debbie’s lol 😂

To those of you who carry your lunch to work each day, how do you get enough proper nutrition? I'm either starving or sluggish from carbs. I carry two chicken wheat wraps made with rotisserie chicken, a big PB&J, some fruit, two boiled eggs, couple packs of crackers. I eat breakfast before work and eat good at night. I drink water all day and will take a Gatorade for when I may start to struggle with blood sugar. I just don't seem to get caught up until afternoon if at all.

I have lost over 30 since September. I cut out most carbohydrates and no snacking.

I am hiking every day with an app to track. Weights too. I feel great and should reach my goal of 50 by New Years.

Do you eat that all at once or snack? Snacking keeps me hungry. I just have to have a big meal and be done

I eat in increments. If I eat one big meal it wrecks me. I have blood sugar issues so carbs mess with me. Carnivore diet has inspired me so I am using it partially and it is def helping with the lacks of protein. It wants me to stop coffee but that's one of my guilty pleasures from 5-11 am

I don’t do breakfast, I can’t Stand the idea of food when I get up and for a couple hours. But after that I’m ready. If I hold out til lunch I’m good to go. If I cave and grab a snack im a hungry mofo all day!

I got up and put my knee brace on before coffee.
I tweaked the bad ( or worst of the two) knee thurs/fri somehow and ended unable to walk.
A quick trip (NOT) to the ortho "urgent care"(oxy-moron) and the knees just keep getting worse and worse.
Replacement for both with the right one being the worst is the plan ...... but first I hafta loose weight.
Thats hard to do when you you can't exercise because the knees that need to be replaced are in such bad shape!
So, it's full time brace on right knee and as needed on the left for now.

Long Haul Covid just keeps getting funner and funner!

Trying to stay consistent.

3 days lifting, 2 days running, 1 day climbing per week.
Enjoying the progress and the fact that I have never felt this good in my body.

Coworker is part of a November push-up challenge organized by his church and I decided to join.
Goal is 100 pushups every day of the month. It's not a volume thing but a consistency deal.
We decided to make it a little tougher on ourselves and pushed it to 100 push-ups every morning, another 100 every evening.
I tried different combinations but settled on 10 EMOM for 10 minutes. Easy, no pain, minimal sweating and I can squeeze 10mn pretty much at any moment.
Gonna try to see if I can reduce the time for the last week.

Lots of motivating folks on this thread, thanks for sharing your journey

I had this dream this weekend and I cannot remember what it was about but I remember waking up in a panic and just had this overwhelming feeling of needing some change in my life. The family and I have been walking every night after dinner, then I come back, get on the treadmill and walk/run for 30 min. In, the morning, I do some jumping jacks to get my heart rate up, crunches at lunch and changing what I eat and how much I eat. I know its only been 3 days, but I already feel good physically and mentally. I really want to keep this train going. Thinking about getting a ruck pack or something and start walking longer distances.

A complete lifestyle change is hard and takes time.
Keep it simple at the beginning and stick to it.
A lot easier to implement one or 2 of the actions above then check if you can maintain for a couple of months, then add more to it if you still feel like it's the way to go.

My neck is still not back to normal (a little over 2 months since the injury). I can’t lift anything without aggravating it, so weights are still off limits which is very depressing. I’ve lost a lot of upper body muscle mass. I’ve been feeling well enough to regularly do cardio though for the past few weeks, so have been riding the stationary bike, hiking on the stair stepper, and occasionally doing the elliptical during my lunch hour. I’ve been staying off the treadmill because it seems to aggravate it.

Thank you for the update. Keep your spirits up :)
