What have you done to your rig today?

That's some really nice layout work. GG đź‘Ť
Thanks. Let's just hope the final product is good. I'm already seeing this morning that it's going to be tight getting the triple sticks in there. I'll probably have to trim the flange around the base. Nothing like cutting up a few hundred dollars worth of new parts to make things fit.

Added 47 traction units to the rear of the sxs today.

Worked on the trans tunnel / triple shifter housing. Got the tunnel welded up and got my triangles welded in. Next, I positioned the triple shifters where they should be. I then used my precision to mark the hole in the wrong spot causing me to have to cut it bigger and then use the cut out piece to fill in the hole where it was now too big.

They're out of sequence. You'll get that.

Trying to get the shifters in was a little bit of a challenge. I started on it but ran out of time. Basically I had to trim 5/8" off one edge. Then I had to drill new holes. I got the new holes drilled and got them transposed onto the trans tunnel but didn't get them drilled. The plan now is to tackle that tomorrow. So theoretically I could have all the big ticket items finished on the Jeep. All that's left are the annoying little things like filling fluids, welding up the exhaust pipe I cut in two, running vent lines, etc.

Another day in the trenches. Got the tunnel primed and painted. Hung it up to dry for a day or so before I install it.

Then I had to bend the triple shifters to clear the transmission shifter. I probably went overboard on the prep but the bends came out tits.

I finished the day by getting flaming pissed while installing the 4-link crossmember. Everything was cool until one of the bolts got crossthreaded and then I ended up having to chase the hole with a tap. FML

Oh I also got the triple shifters installed and hooked to the 205 and ecobox. Whoopeee!!

Figured out where to put the twin sticks. Now just need someone to come do some @McCracken level sheet metal fab under the console to hold or all in place.

Rough day in the shop. It took me over two hours to get the shifters positioned, bolted in, and the new tunnel bolted down. Some days are obviously better than others and this just wasn't one of them. Not much to see but it's now done. If it had to come back out I think I'll just push it off a cliff.

After I spent the time to get the shifters bent so they wouldn't be in the way of the transmission shifter I came to find out it wasn't enough. Like I said before, I'm not tearing it back out so I decided to.bend the transmission shifter. First, I straightened it out. Then I got a rough idea of where to bend it. Then I bent it. Meanwhile I couldn't help but think there was some bad juju in the shop so I decided to quench the shifter with the High Life. If champagne doesn't spook out the bad juju then I may be up shit creek.

Made all this look not like this

I reused the ratchet straps for my cooler upgrade

I was hesitant for years buying one of the "high dollar" coolers when my $20 Coleman works well. I finely broke down and picked one up. Being able to strap down the cooler and not having to unstrap it every time I want a tasty beverage was worth every penny! I wish I would have done it a long time ago!

And for the record, a $88 dollar ozark trail was the high dollar cooler I was talking about.

The coolers I was using were too small for drinks lunch and ice.

Previously I made aluminum pans for a small cooler and a Rubbermaid container that would bolt to the rack. It had straps built into it so all you had to do was clip it in and out. Worked well but wasnt big enough.

Pulled off the brake booster and master cylinder…and cleaned off the rust and painted it..received my extended brake lines yesterday and plan on putting all of the on the weekend

Getting this old girl back on the road... think I've put about 10 miles on her in the last 4 years.

Probably a good time to swap out the license plates, I see the screws holding the old one on are rusted.

About pooped my pantaloons. Got the slave hooked to the clutch fork, pushed the pedal, hit a wall. Not a literal wall but the pedal felt solid with maybe a 1/2" of movement. If I had to take that transmission out I was going to break down. Instead I started at the slave cylinder. Pulled it out and found it to be the culprit. Cleaned it out and then reinstalled with fresh fluid.

Also, got the Ecobox vent line ran and topped it off. Then I mounted the cover for the transfer case under the passenger seat. Lastly, I put a new coat of paint on the newly bent trans shifter and installed it.

Replaced all the coil packs last night. #2 went out at the NC4x4 meetup and I had to trailer it home. Replaced all of them because if one went, the others are sure to follow.

I like the 3.6L but the engineer who designed it should be shot. Who ever thought putting the left side plugs and coil packs under the intake was a good idea?

Now to fix the exhaust leak from The Ranch.

Last post was Sept 26th? Sheesh.

I swapped out the super sucky stock headlights on my '06 2500 Ram with some new ones. As soon as the kiddos are asleep, I'm gonna go for a drive and see how cock-eyed she is.
