What have you done to your rig today?

Last post was Sept 26th? Sheesh.

I swapped out the super sucky stock headlights on my '06 2500 Ram with some new ones. As soon as the kiddos are asleep, I'm gonna go for a drive and see how cock-eyed she is.

Covered up a hole from the old cb antenna, and made a magnetic radio mount.

more pics of the magnetic mount!!!! I need something rollbar mounted but havent found a good solution...I have this mount on my console, but Im not satisifed with it.

I started making my list of shit I have to do to it before heading to Harlan over the weekend and comparing it to the zero time I have this week. Looks like it will be getting it's once over at the campsite on Thursday LOL!!!

@Pennsylvaniaboy here are some more pics. It works really well on flat surfaces. On a roll bar, I have my concerns since the flat magnet is making contact only on the tangent surface of the round tube. I need to fine tune the fitment just a little, but works pretty good so far. I need to trail test it. It would also help if the spring on the radio clip was stronger.

1) Placed an order for tires, and a tie rod and drag link lit from summit (they had what I wanted in stock)…

2) pulled a set of headman headers, and offenhauser intake from a running 258 88 yj

Pulled the trans out of the cj hoping it was just an input seal leaking. I think it's the idler shaft bearing cap, which means I have to pull the whole thing apart.

Trying to not get a case of the "may as well while I'm at it". You know twin stick and clock the Dana 300, then flat belly, then 4 link, and so on.

It was too tired to go to work the other day

Changed fuel pump and got it back going. Decided I'd look at my sending units since one left me stranded showing 1/4 tank and the other one been acting up. Ended up pulling the whole bed cause it was just easier. Both tanks need new pickup feet and one float was cracked and full of fuel. Replaced it with a float off a 1979 Bronco sending unit that hadn't made it to the scrap pile yet.

Well not today, but yesterday I disassembled the T5 trans in the jeep, fixed the leak (I hope) and put it back together. Everything looks to be in really good condition, but it's definitely a light weight trans. Got big plans to swap the 440 Mopar and 727 in pretty soon...

Gassed up the ORIs which was a mind boggling experience. I don't think it's supposed to be this way but I've got four different pressures. Whatever, it sits level.

Ground out a place in the crossmember to give the driveshaft some more clearance. I don't think I can flex it out to the full 14" but it'll get close around 10-11". I'll probably get some limiting straps later.

I need to get the exhaust fixed Monday but other than that it's small stuff....I hope. I'll be interested to see how the shakedown run goes next weekend.

Clay bar, water spot remover, & then buffed/polished the hood (Joe was in charge of the last part, I'm not qualified to use the orbital). We ran out of daylight so the rest of the car will have to wait.

Clay does amazing things to paint.

I used to have a guy in our detail shop that would clay and polish your car for a hondo, it was money well spent.

The daily driver Dodge Ram is down for some work, so I've been driving my 'fun rig' (01 Jeep TJ) to work for the past week.

It's been nice. Took a few to get used to how danged wobbily the steering is, and how underpowered it is(even though it SHOULDN'T BE with 33's on 4.10's), and how it randomly begins misfiring and I have to pull over and cut it off and then back on to reset it... but hey - the heat works so good in the mornings I'm surprised it hasn't melted the plastic vents yet.

I've put more miles on it the past week then I have in the last four or five years all combined.

Isn't is realllly easy to throw a Dana 60 under those?

They make different leaf springs :D
