What have you done to your rig today?

Stock shifter mechanism was a no go with my trans. By using the behemoth kit it deletes all of that and puts a plate for the front output. Making the clearance much better
Roger that. Good info since my "friend" may be looking at doing similar, just wasn't expecting how proud they are of it! 😲

Got it inspected, got tags, and gave it a rough washing! Still need to get all the detailing cleaned up, but she's legal and good to go!

Also picked up some synchromesh and gear oil to get some fresh lube in the transmission and axles 👌

It cleaned up pretty decent!

That's at my buddy's house...across the highway. I do not live in a neighborhood.

I was gonna say, that's a pretty white driveway for you to be parking in.....

My driveway is rock and there are ZERO neighbors across the road!

I appreciate @Croatan_Kid needing to clarify he doesn't have a residential dwelling in yuppie ville. Because he knows we would all use this against him, revoke his man card , etc...

Mall Crawler mode. Put on some mall crawler rims and AT’s for road use. Man they ride smooth and quiet!!

Had an appointment with the doc this morning, but I did manage to change the oil in the transmission before driving it to work!

If had been in there since 2014, but only had about 20,000 miles on the oil. Still needed to be changed anyway. The transmission still clicks going in to gears and there wasn't much on the magnet of the drain plug, so no complaints here.

Been tinkering with this & that, working to be ready for the OBX trip. I had the day off, & had the Plan, so between a Doctor appointment, & watching paint dry, I got a mechanical temp gauge installed. I have an aftermarket electric gauge, that seems pretty accurate. But,,, after having a GPS speedometer installed, on the steering column, I realized I had nearly blocked my view of the gauge. I've had this made in USA mechanical gauge for years, but only used it to verify my temps. Then there is Where to put it? With some fancy fab work & testing, I got it filling part of the hold where the last Radio was. Lol, Yes it's turned 180*, but heck, I can read it! Just finished it up & tested it for leaks, & working, plus compared it to the electric gauge. Their pretty close on readings, but I trust the old mechanical, over the electric.

See...stuff like this bugs the hell out of me. So I remedy the situation 💁‍♂️

I had to order some other stuff anyway, an 8 pack of the little rubber fuel door bumpers was like 4 bucks, and it makes everything look WAY better. It's amazing how that body line being off will draw my eye directly to it.

I’ve never seen or read so much freedom in one post before :usa:

Reminds me of some sort of XJsavage adventure.

Fuel filter and finally put the Ruff Stuff rear diff cover on that I've had for probably 10 years. Along with that, fresh gear oil and a Lube Locker gasket.

I'm telling you...somebody is gunna get a sweet rig :D

Not today per se, but over the course of the few days, re-mounted my tires on my Dirty Life beadlocks.I managed to get one wheel a night done after work. Some took longer than others....

I found out the tire shop that I paid to mount them, just seated half of the bead, leaving the other half on top of the ring mounting surface. Essentially pinching and thus stretching the rubber. I gotta say, that was a huge pain in the ass to fix.

Wasted 140 bucks on the mounting, plus a metric ass load of time trying to find my balancing issues. When it was shoddy work to start with! I will try to drive the Jeep this evening and see what difference if any was made....

Fingers crossed!!!

This past weekend I deleted the factory mechanical pump on my 12 valve. A fuel pump block plate from a small block Chevy covers the factory fuel pump hole in the block perfectly. I have lost 3 pumps since I have owned it and found that the factory pickup straw in the tank was falling apart causing starvation issues (noted by the fuel pressure gauge on the pillar). Also bypassed the factory pickup and put a sump in the tank. It was an easy install except for dropping the tank to ensure it was all free of debris. The only thing I’m not a fan of is, I wanted to mount the pump on the frame rail under the bed part so it was tucked up higher but the bracket isn’t tall enough to span the frame at that point so it had to go under the cab where the frame isn’t as tall in its profile. The new 4g motors on these are way bigger than the old style so it does hang down a bit. (Guess I’ll fit in with the brodozer crowd 😒). I will say these newer pump motors are whisper quiet compared to the old style that I had on my old Cummings. Oh, and I deleted the muffler that was rattling and noisy. 5” straight pipe all the way FTW.

Great move, that 5" straight pipe will quiet the ole girl right down. :driver:
