What have you done to your rig today?

Picked up a e locked front for my 80 series and ran 5 wires from the rear locker to the plug under the dash now all I have to do is install the heavy ass things

I made a cupholder/ console out of sapele mahogany for that big spot right of the 4wd shifter in my 95 f250. Poser shots to come once the poly dries.

Rotated my tie rod 180* again until it bends the next time. Installed longer limit straps and measured for a 1410 series front shaft from @Oliver's. Then I can get all of my available suspension travel without binding the ujoints.
Lubed the Superjoints in the front axle shafts and gave it a good post- Harlan lookover.

I had some steering lag on my Xj.. Found frame cracked between the steering box and the track bar mount. Apparently it's pretty common. Mine deflected about 3/8" at a stand still just jogging the wheel. Stop drilled & Welded it up, need to plate the rest of the frame rail since the bumper mount stops 4" short of the track bar mount. That's another project for another day. Had pics but ran my phone over immediately after it fell off my front bumper. Oops.
 
I've been chasing the cause of the brakes sticking in my pete. Replaced a couple of the brake chambers that were leaking and adjusted the brakes and still had problems with them sticking.

Well I found the problem yesterday. Noticed that the brake lights were on while letting the air build up. Went in and grabbed the brake pedal and it was all I could do to pull it up all the way. Couple hours of beating, polishing and lubing the brake pedal and mount. She works like a charm now.
 
why are your brakes sticking to your peter? You might love your rig too much...

You know that feeling when you know you are forgetting something? I've had it for about 4 years. Well it's gone now. I changed the air filter in my 1994 Toyota pickup. 56k miles after purchase. It was oem Toyota and I wouldn't be surprised if it was from the last warranty service. 206k miles on it now.

Replaced front and rear shocks, front brake pads, 2 front tires within the last two days.

Sat it on all 4s with the springs swaps doneish. Got some temp hangers up front while I figure out how I want to really do it.

I looked at mine again. Going to actually work on it soon. I'm just not ready yet! For some reason I wait till the dead of winter when I've got cabin fever to do all my work. Makes it more special working outside in 20 degree Temps in the dark. Maybe I'm a glutton for pushishment or maybe I use my time wisely...

Nah, it's just the only time slow enough to have enough time to get anything done that's not at the top of the priority list. That's why we wait til fall to fix heat, Spring/summer to fix sir conditioning, and winter to fix/upgrade toys. My yj has been waiting patiently on flat tires for me to move, strip and give her a good time with her new power and drive train.
 
Took the doors and windows off and drove the family over to the land we bought. Felt like summer time.

Thanks to some harassment from @BIGWOODY and @CasterTroy I felt motivated to try and get the jeep drive able again. Everything is twice as hard and takes 3 times as long when you can only use one hand. Tore up 2 drill bits and an end mill trying to get the stupid nubs out of the front axle UCA bushings. Finally ground them down with a Dremel tool and ran a 1/2" reamer through em. Ground some metal off the aftermarket UCA brackets so my Teraflex UCAs would fit. Got the UCAs and shocks connected, set caster/pinion angle, then trimmed some extra material off the RE trackbar bracket. And by trimmed I mean I used a portaband and cut like 5 square inches off in one pass. There was useless metal hanging down 1.5" below the bolt hole. I wish I had video of me trying to balance the dumb end of the portaband with my left elbow and start a cut at 45 degrees on a face.
