Bronco Reveal

need has zero to do with it. Nobody “needs” a 392 in a JLU, nobody needed 360 or 401 in a CJ...

no replacement for displacement.

Right. Stock they are fine but then of course add all the weight from bumpers, winches, sliders, larger tires, etc and suddenly it becomes a "need"!!!

I think this is pretty much a universal feeling.
But I do have to ask... if you can get 300+ HP out of the V6.... why? just because two more V's sounds more awesomer?

Its a small % of people that need more than that, and those people are goin gto have to upgrade the whole drivetrain anyway.

Logical, but a V-6 (usually) sounds like crap compared to a V8 - especially when the exhaust if opened up.

I prefer my HP from dispacement not forced injection! To me turbos are just asking for trouble. Look at what issues they are already having with the ecoboost motors.

I don't understand why there's not an Ecoboost 5.0 or 7.3 option. We really need both to be available.

Because they don't wantto also have to provide axle options...

I imagine once the luster wears off, there will be in 5ish years. The blackdiamondsasquatchplatinum edition or something along those lines. I don't see why they wouldn't, outside of all of Ford's EV and small/turbo 6 development since the bailout timeframe.

Yep, Jeep put it off for 40 years because there was no real competition. As soon as the Bronco showed up...BOOM, V8 Wrangler.

There is a company pulling them and replacing them with electric motors I think is what they said.

The wife managed to convince me that I just needed to take her Expedition, and we could buy her a new OBX Sport. She saw several over the last week from Raleigh to Nags Head and she thought they were the absolute cutest. Better mpgs and more maneuverable for her. However, got serious today, it could fit two forward facing car seats decently well, if I was driving, I’d have to adjust my seat forward…if I was a passenger, my knees were in the dash board after adjustment. No biggie, I just wouldn’t really drive it. But we’ll have baby 3 in the next 6 weeks, there absolutely wasn’t any room for a rear facing car seat, with the two others…and I really don’t think 3 forward facing/booster seats would fit or be anywhere near comfortable for the kids.

Think there will be any of the 30k base models on the lots? MY bet Is they will be special order only. I don't want to order one before I at least drive any of the full sizes and see how I like it. I wanted the FJ to work when they remade it but the long dash paired with the small windshield made me car sick when I drove it. I really do like everything I have seen and read thus far and need a new daily ride.

I have driven similar high HP, "big displacement 4 cylinders" in the past, with or without forced induction it just doesn't work.....when all your horsepower happens well north of 5k you have to constantly drive it like you stole it.
I do believe there is at least a 5.0 mule running around somewhere. The OEM's like to launch with safe drivetrains, find all the flaws, then slam in twice the HP and tq at 2k rpm.
I would imagine the IFS will need some big improvements before low end tq can meet the crawl ratio they stuffed into the squatch package.

I’ve not driven the 4cyl but the 2 v6 EBs make great low end.

My opinions are bias as the 7 speed manual will only be offered with the 4 cylinder.
Supposedly Ford relented and said the 2.7 would get it too.

I wish they would make a new Bronco with SOLID AXLES like the first gen.
I wish they would make a new Bronco that LOOKED GOOD like the first gen.

You and me and a small (relatively small) % of folks would, but like the hundreds of JKs and JLs I see weekly with 20” and bigger wheels and rubber band “mud tires” just washed and waxed, driven by flat brim tards and soccer moms, most Broncos (even Sasquatches and Badlands) will never see dirt. IFS is king on the asphalt.

There should be a package with a D44 front, I agree. Toyota should offer a real HiLux here too.

I’m really curious in general when there might be any on the lots not already sold by all the pre orders. The way it’s worded is there maybe some dealer stock for the 22 model. But you are right. I bet there won’t be many dealers ordering the base to sell

Some are trickling out but most were ordered months ago and already sold.

It’ll be late next year before any sit on lots to be bought I would bet.

My wife is interested in one possibly but loves her CRVs and let’s face it…Honda vs. Ford reliability isn’t even a contest.
