'85 Xtra Cab Build

Going to attempt to keep this as close to its current height as possible. The front spring hanger and shackles will bring it up about 2".

Its not much of a bed anymore. Just sheetmetal in the vague shape of a bed. But yes it is staying. I will just cut the fenders to clear what I need it to.

Rolled it into the shop after work tonight to give it a once over before tomorrows run at Mtn City. Tightened some loose bolts, made a harness out of all the old harness sections I had laying around and burned the chain back on the motor mount from where it had ripped off and taken a chunk of the metal cap with it. Just need to change some spark plugs in the morning.

Shutup married man.

Torn down awaiting parts...

Itching for the 42s

Cinder blocks are supposed to support weight the other direction. :flipoff2:

Lets see the tons!

Swampy saw the trails.....a few times...lol

The front spring hanger kit from Sky and the Chevy 60 U bolt kit showed up tonight. Got a good bit of work done. Ditched the heavy ass front bumper that was on the truck, cleaned up the frame, welded up all the usual stress points around the front spring hanger and front crossmember that like to tear apart on these trucks and mocked up the spring hanger.

Tires and wheels should be mounted up. Will pick those up tomorrow and hopefully have the front end sitting on its own weight later this week.
