'85 Xtra Cab Build

Got a little more done tonight after work. Housing is cleaned up and the truss is mostly together. A little more grinding on the housing to get the truss where I want it and it will be ready to go under the truck.

Going to plate the frame where the link brackets will go then it will be time to mock up my links. Grabbed some PVC pipe from work tonight for that part.

i got a miller 210 at my shop your welcome to bring that thing over if you need to and we will burn it together:huggy:

Preciate the offer! Got the breaker and wire from work tonight to put a 220v circuit in my shop panel. Gonna take wheelnc62cj's Miller 180 AutoSet out there to do all the finish welding.

Making some plates to reinforce the frame where the link mounts will go tonight and mocking up the links with PVC. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow I'll have it sitting on all 4's since I have the day off work.

Thanks to BrownsXJ for coming out to the shop last night, drilling out the brackets that needed 3/4 holes for the joints, drinking beer, catching his drill on fire and getting the vacuum mess torn out of the engine bay in prep for the propane conversion. Having someone knock out all the tedious little stuff really speeds things up.

man if you need any help or tools im down to wrench you still got my number dont ya just text me let me know if you need some help

Got a little more done tonight. Finish welded the upper brackets and got them tacked to the frame. Lowers are mocked up.

That steering arm and draglink are in the back seat of the my jeep

Wooooohoooooo! Been looking good. Action pics?

Hahaha. thanks. Got a ways to go though. Still have to finish weld all the brackets, tabs, truss etc. Extend Driveshafts, plumb and mount the full hydro, plumbing brakes, Swapping to SRW hubs, installing propane etc. Getting the 4link done was the big hurdle so now I can roll it around when its time to go get the plumbing done.

Finished and at full bump. Just need to charge the air shocks.

Steering, propane and brakes and it's ready to test.

Heard that FLOYT. Lookin mean!

Adam has a pro stance on the 40 OZ/ work-out bike.

Put some 2.5" spacers on the back and peel out rockwell flipped-out hubs style.

Are the bed sides going to flap in the wind still? :flipoff2:

Are you borrowing a tank to charge the Urrr Shawx or taking them to a cycle shop?

Came home from vacation to a bunch of packages including the first shipment of joints and brackets from RuffStuff that went out back in November.

Going to try and get the propane install done tonight and move onto the steering. Hopefully I'll roll it onto the trailer next week sometime to go get the rest of the brakes and hydro plumbed.

Hit a few snags tonight. Needed another adapter to make the propane mixer work (Impco 100/125 bolt pattern to the larger 200/225 mixer I have) and need to go get the right master cylinder to work with the Sky MFG Adapter. The one I have will not accomodate the pushrod extension that comes in the kit.

I did manage to get the rest of the engine bay "cleaned up". Old brake, fuel and vacuum lines are gone as well as a bunch of accessory wiring that I removed. Stripping it down to basics. With the Toyota gear and I had a bunch of rust in the brake lines so I am just going to re-plumb the whole system when it is time to make the brake lines for the 1 ton stuff.

Engine bay cleaned up, propane lockoff and vapoizer mounted, master cylinder in place and the orbital mocked up.
