Bad seller: Studnuts

condensation? great googly moogly from the pics that looks like a flood, both of you should be shot if thats how the oil looked when sold.

On a side note im pretty sure i was there the last weekend jon wheeled that thing and there seemed be to be nothing wrong with that motor, and there was not any smoke coming out of the tail pipe whenever i saw it run which was frequently. And i doubt his cat was cleaning it up.

But this thread is entertaining

Two years? I thought this was relevant until I realized it was a two year old sale. And if it was already out of the vehicle, and you had any inclination that there was an issue, why did you not 1) check the oil on the dip stick or 2) drain the oil. You didn't even have to tear it down to find a significant quantity of water in the oil.

And bad call on calling his work. :shaking:

I didnt specify which business now did I. Yall just assume its the said mentioned. Yalls a bunch of over dramatic babies. Whitetrash why are you even posting? Does this even involve you?
And to reiterate for the internet babies. I have the bill of sale, sold as is, he knew there was water in the oil when he looked at it - and that was the first I knew of it. I didnt hold a gun to his head to buy it. Maybe I was a little nieve about it, but the engine DID run fine for me leading me to believe there wasnt a darn thing wrong with it. Im over it and I am not coming to settlement. I offered to make it right 2 years ago.

"im telling on you!":shaking::shaking::shaking:

you are low

On another note, it seems that the post should be about at an end, because yall arent going to come to an agreement, because i think you killed any chance of jon helping you with the tone of your very first post.

Yeah lets fight it out? Thats the mature way. At least you didnt back pedal, that would have been real bad.
And you are an idiot if you think it could be condensation, I should have never trusted you on that. Oil and water separeted might be condensation not mixed milkshake.
Backyard monkies? An ex-chrysler tech and a Motorsprots dist. arnt quite that.
And you proved my point that you new there was a problem, and then reassured me it was fine.

How can you call him an idiot for thinking it was condensation? Obviously you didn't know either.

Calling a mans place of business was a bad move. What do they have to do with this?

Using profanity is not the manly way to handle things. If someone talked to me like that then there is NO way I'm going to help them. Talking respectfully will get you a lot farther.

You bought the engine as is 2 years ago. You can hardly get a warranty on a new crate engine for that long. And they don't care if it has been sitting in the crate the whole time either.

It was a bad deal on both parties. I'm sure studnuts doesn't like having a bad sell happen. And you can chalk this up as a lesson learned. If there is any doubt don't buy. Or at least have someone there who knows more than you do.

That fine the fact remains that he lied to me.

Calling his job i guess is my way of dealing with his threats. He can backpedal and try to cover his ass all he wants but it was said. Good luck finding a new job, i was going to drop it but now i am pissed.

Fact is you knew something was worse than condensation, yet you reassured me it was fine. I had little engine knowledge and took your word b/c you said you didnt think it was worth it.

And for you people, the past 2 years have been very rough for me and my family. I have not spent hardly any time worrying about a motor.

And you can chalk this up as a lesson learned. If there is any doubt don't buy. Or at least have someone there who knows more than you do.

Thats what i said in the beginning, I didnt expect anything to come of this but to just warn others of this transaction, I did offer him a way to end this but oh well.

I have some questions ?

I've never drained oil from a motor upside down on a stand, so I'm confused as to how the much stuff got on bottoms of the pistons as its pictured, sitting on a stand?

The colors don't seem to match up ? And it looks like oil on some parts and that other stuff elsewhere ?

Ditto. Damn thats twice in a week or so:lol:
If this is the motor out of john's buggy, I heard it run several times. He had no trouble flogging his buggy at the playground. I saw no evidence of anything being wrong with it so I would have assumeed it to be fine as well.
If he knew it was f'ed up, he would have put fresh oil in it to cover it up.
Add the fact it was 2 years ago, along with your dickhead move of calling 4wp, who had NOTHING to do with it and, well, I have nothing to say to you that won't get deleated.
So :fuck-you:

That really speaks of his stand up character. I am not taking sides either way but if a friend of mine used that as an argument for me being a good seller to deal with, good guy, etc. I would be pissed.

I thought this crybaby thread got locked?

It should have stayed that way

My point was, if he knew that he was selling a bad motor, he would have put clean oil in it to try and hide it, not leave oil in it that looked like water. He did not try to hide anything.

Calling his job i guess is my way of dealing with his threats.

Uh, i'd say the threats started here, with you, on the first post.

YOU ARE A PIECE OF SHIT
I hope i never see you again b/c it would be ugly. Enjoy that new job, YOU FUCKING LIAR

you know where I work. You got something to say, say it to my face cause ill put you on the ground. Dont make threats you cant promise pal. You dont know me.

he said you know where I work... that does not mean he wants to fight. all that means is you know where to contact him at.
If the guy said "you know where I work come up here so I can kick your ass" that will be a whole another story. WHTTRASH...you are about as useless as a football bat

for the whitetrash record. this isnt calling anyone here to fight, im not in my teens anymore. This is to resolve it man to man, not man to internet like the trolls on here are doing.

Quoted from the original post i can easily see how those sound a fight is intended. When you leave off the "ill put you on the ground" part i see how it suddenly doesnt sound like it anymore.

That fine the fact remains that he lied to me.
You haven't even come CLOSE to proving this to be a fact.
And the FACT that nearly everyone who's reading this is disagreeing with you should tell you something.
Oh, and the FACT that you were the one who threatened him in your first post.
Your photos also look very suspicious.

Here's what that was in response to:

That was in the OP's initial post.
Not saying either one was right, but OP went there first, not Studnuts.

I definately see your point there. was just pointing out that people were quoting the message (leaving out some key words and phrases) and the saying that there was never a mention of the possability of a fight.

I think you are missing the critical point here.

Scarface says Studs is a lair because he knew about leak and yet said it was sokay.
In order for that to be true, it means 3 things must be true - 1 - he knew about it - 2 - he said it was ok, and - 3 - he is unscrupulous (e.g. covered it up).

if any of 1, 2, OR 3 don't hold, then he is NOT a liar. He was just wrong.
Following thi logic, ONLY somebody for whom all 3 holds true would change the oil first. If he didn't know, he wouldn't have any idea it needed changing. If he was unscrupulous but did not say it was ok, he'd have no need to cover his tracks (e.g. change the oil) b/c no lie had been told. Etc etc.

I bough ta car once w/ a blown head gasket at an auction. I know dude knew it, b/c - had brand new fresh oil... and a drained radiator.

oh so that isn't a grey goose white Russian in the bottle...
besides the main bearing caps & crank look awful clean in this pic compared with the other pic
I say it smells of a big fat greasy webwheeling troll.
Bobby, I'm sad to say it isn't. Shane was letting the milky oil slide and was going to chalk it up to a learning experience. Now that he's had time to do some work on the engine, he found out the head was cracked. This really is no joke.

Don't think anyone thinks it's a joke, but what IS a joke is this:
Buying an engine AS IS.
Knowing there's water in the oil.
Refusing an offer by the seller at the time to work on it.
Waiting TWO YEARS, and coming on an internet message board like a candy-ass keyboard commando and blowing the seller up for the engine being bad.

Look, IMO, if the seller knew the engine had this problem at the time, than he is definitely a piece of :poop:
All the experiences of others are chiming in with about this seller would indicate that he is not.
And even if he DID know, you still don't wait two freaking years and tell the world about it.

Seriously....do you wait two years to go back to the grocery story and tell them the milk you bought was spoiled?
