Well I have been looking at all the ways to get some decent tow lights when flat towing with the bus and as always I am cheap. So I took 2 sets of magnetic lights I had cut them up and re wired them, attached them to a board and I now have 24 volt tow lights that are very bright and work great. With a few zip ties I can attach it or remove it and store it.

and here are a few pics of our recent trip to wilmington KOA..

We got super lucky and they gave us one of there "new patio sites" it really was not camping but was a nice vacation :)

why not hook it up to use the factory tailights on the avalanche?

Is that an exterior front windshield cover?

Avalanche is 12 volt and bus is 24 volt..

and yes that is an external cover that goes over windshield.. it reduces the heat by over 30 degrees..

Gotcha. Missed that part reading earlier.

I'm not around the rv world much but that cover looks nice, much better then the curtains and such, imo

thanks I am gonna try to make 2 more.. one for each side window.. they are great as you can see out of them in the daylight and people cant see in..

I did forget to post a picture of my new LED lights I added to the outside of the bus

these are 32' long and they can change 24 different colors..

Where did you find those? We went the led Christmas light route... Nice, but expensive.

Not much to add but I did get the drivers window and passenger door window covers made this past week so the entire front is now blacked out..

These work great because you can see out the windows but you cant see in. and they reduce the heat by 30 degrees which is even better..

What are the covers made from?

it is a screen mesh material.. you can get it online..

but I had these made from a company based out of florida.. they go to hatteras the same time as we do and they are also BUS NUTs so they give me a huge discount
and since I dont have a great sewing machine I let them do it :)

Man oh Man did I get lucky this past weekend..

Driving Bus down I-40 and all of a sudden all my dash lights lit up like a Christmas tree; engine over heating, temp gauges etc.. ( glad I know they all work now )

well I only have 1 engine driven belt and it is for the fans to cool the radiators.. well it broke.. so I pulled over and in 15 mins we were back on the road.. I got SUPER LUCKY as that spare belt came 30 mins before we hit the road Friday..

now it is time to order another spare belt :)
