Hot rods, street rods, muscle cars and old trucks

MOAR PICS PUHLEEZ!!!!!!

Specs, info, for sale?, any trade interests, adopt me....

For sale?? check with my kid after I die!

This thing started out as my great uncle's truck on the family farm in Cookeville, TN as an all original, complete farm truck, and was a GMC instead of a Chevy. Then it passed down to my Grandparents along with the farm. It was about that time that I was an eager 13-14 yr old and wanted an old car/truck as my first ride... so I bought it from my grandmother for $1 after my grandfather passed away. My Dad and I brought it back to NC stripped it down, and restored/hotrod'd it over the next 2 years. This truck wound up being MUCH more that just a first car for a boy. It was so badass, and my Dad and I got to spend so much time together (he was a single parent, and my sister was in college) Around our house it was garage time, JC Whitney catalogs, and car shows. I'll never forget someone asking my dad about how much money and time we spent on this truck... and my dad saying, well if he's in the garage, I know he's not out running the streets causing trouble with the wrong crowd.

So we had finished it well enough, and about a week later I entered it into a car show and I won a some kind of trophy with it. 🤓Then about a week later, headed to the river on a Sunday with some friends in the bed (again dumb 16yrd old kid move) an old lady ran a red light and I T-boned her right in the side of her crown vic! Luckily no one was hurt except for the truck and the rage that I had for that old lady! I'm still mad at her! But it scared me to think that if she was a split second later, or I was a bit faster, what that scene would have looked like. I have a picture of the truck after the wreck somewhere. The front clip was flat nosed, but the truck was in ok shape other than that. I replaced the front clip, but never repainted it. I was in the mindset that if I ever finished it, the something else would happen to it. (dumbest shit ever right?) So I drove it like a bat out of hell the rest of high school, and still made a ton of memories with it. Then, bought my first Jeep, caught the rock crawling/trail riding fever, and have been broke ever since! 🤪 but yeah, life happened... career, marriage, kid, divorce, marriage, stepkids. I drug it to my house about a year ago, and let it continue to hang out in the yard. Plan now is to get it back to running condition, so I can atleast drive it. Then, blow it apart and redo some things that we rushed through, possibly S-10 frame swap/LS Swap, and repair the rust/bodywork that has not aged well over the last 25 years or so.

I don't think I've ever posted in here. 73 Duster, turbo efi 340, rmvb 727 auto, mini-tub'd to fit 325 drag radials, dana 60, cal-tracs and sliders.
I had a '72 duster. Was Duke blue with white interior and a white half vinyl top. Mine was a slant six with rally wheels. Would like to have that ole gal back.

I been wanting a '47 to '53 chevrolet shortbed pretty bad lately....................Patina finish, airbagged, armory style wheels and an LS with a chop tune

no LS or Chevy but close
I mean I could prolly settle......:D

I had a '52 F1 with a caddi 500 in it that I never finished. Yours is the exact look I am thinking. Main reason for a '47 to '53 chebby is because my gramps uses to drive them, had six or seven. They were patina and looked like junk in the '70s lol. He went to Liberty one evening in a '50 model 5 window to take a guy a case of liquor. It got late and he wasn't home so grandma thought he got locked up. Well low and behold here he comes down the road on a bicycle. He said guy offered him dam good monies for his pickup, he said if you toss in that bicycle you got a deal! Liberty was 12 miles or so depending on where he went.

Dad just bought this from a neighbor so he could stop losing sleep over it. Been parked beside his house for probably 20 years. 64 SS 4 speed power steering with AC. It’s all there, a little crusty but really not too bad. I wouldn't be sad to drive it as is.

Sweet!! I had a "68 euro with a hand crank sunroof and a little single port 1200.

I've been kicking around the idea of a bug dd and shop ride. 45 in one should be fun and a lot less gas than the 250.
