Hot rods, street rods, muscle cars and old trucks

@Blaze, what you know about a 63 Pontiac Grand Prix? Guy might be interested in trading for a truck I have.

Doubt it’s something I want to keep but if the markets good for one, I’m game. Not 100% finished but most of the big work has been done I think. I don’t have full details on engine/trans etc. yet, so I’m not a ton of help.

Only pics I’ve got so far...

Pretty sweet car. Appears to be a 5-lug car, if it is original engine (hard to tell by pics) it is a 389. They are cool cars, but not worth as much as a Catalina or Tempest of the same era. PM me if you want, I can kind of give you a general idea on it. I sold a 63 GP parts car a while back, didn't bring as much as I had hoped.

Thanks! If I get serious about it I’ll shoot you another message. I went down the Pontiac rabbit hole the past few days. Want a Tempest wagon now...

I want one of those really bad. Problem with those is the rope drive and rear transaxle. They are not terribly strong and will frag if you put any real power to it. Arnie Beswick had a 421SD in factory S/S back in the day and they were having to replace the rear differential every couple passes. I have a 61 Tempest now with the 4cyl half-389 in it. Also have a 63 and 64 Catalinas. All three are for sale. :)

What a Saturday I Had! This one is mostly for
YJeXtremeWell-Known Member, as I said I'd try. Started out at Restore in Gastonia, dropping off some Freebies. Then while in the area, I hit a Spot I had seen. Pulled up to what looked like a home-junk yard. Meet the 80 yo retired used car dealer, & got busy. I'll just say, this man claims everything he has, is complete, as in engine/drivetrain, ect. He doesn't need money, & will leave whatever there is to his Family. Doesn't care to sell parts, only whole cars. He'd probably be High, on prices. But he enjoyed my company & showing me around. He Does have a few Really Nice cars, such as the Burgandy Club Sedan! Just need to be freshened up. [btw the other 55/56 Fords I could see, were 4 doors. too much stuff in the Briers,
that I couldn't get to][including some Miltary Jeep or unit, under a shed I couldn't get to]

Then onto Lowesville, where again, I had a Lucky Tour, with an 83 yo & his son. Just blows my mind, the things we never see, Or know exist! Now, this man would sell, & seems reasonable, such as the Green 54 model, for $3500. And if YJxTreme is interested, a redone 56, that needs to be finished. I think all the parts are there, & it may have been $15,000. Seems a shame when anyone collects & starts all these Projects, which will never get done! Worse than a Jeep thing. The 55[?] parts car I saw in the woods, has a loaded trunk, but they said they couldn't get it open. I told them, I Could! haha. Pretty nice 54 Merc, but the tires are rotting off it. I opened the passenger door & saw that water is getting in. Damn. The, he unlocked the Shop. :D:bounce::bounce2:

Almost done! This one is for RQ. Can't believe I visited 3 sites on a Saturday, & someone was Home at each one!
Here I am in Mountain Island. The Man was sick, so i didn't bother with a contact #, just took a few pics & left. 64 Impala, which is behind the house out of site, well, it can just stay there! hehe This is the 3rd. Jeepster, I've run across in the past 12 months. Maybe Not a rare as I thought. I Will say This one is in the best shape of the 3, I've told RQ about. Not much rust, mostly just surface. Rockers & floors seemed solid, as was the tailgate. I wasn't poking around much, & didn't raise the hood. Also, what I had thought was a 55/56 Ford, is a 52. Just some parts!
Late afternoon sun was blinding my cell camera!

Nothing. YJvTreme is restoring a 56, & I told him I had seem a couple in the woods, I'd check out.

Looks like you had a fun day! I have no real need for whole car unless price was right. Most of my “needs” for parts are more of wants to replace parts I can live with vs what I’d prefer.

@rodney eppes thanks for sharing. Lots of cool stuff in those collections. I’d take the early Bronco and utility bed Chevy
Interestingly, we Did talk about the Bronco. First thing He brought up, before I ever saw it. Telling how 1 day someone inquired about the price. Buyer claimed he knew nothing, & this "retired" Dealer, said he didn't know. So he called his son, whom told dad it was worth 50K! I told him NO Such thing existed, & we got into Barrett Auctions. Later he said, yea, if you spend 50 on restoring it, you'd get 50. I said yea, you know how you spend 50, & be lucky to get 35-40! He's still "Sharp", don't let the age fool you. Right now, on Market Place, there are 2 Perfect, Beautiful, Broncos, in the neighborhood of $36K.
