iMPAKS wrangler build.. no more XJ

Well now that I am caught up n other projects it is time to get back to the jeep..

I had to brace all the rear link mounts so I could spin the jeep around and made half a truss for rear upper links.. will continue more on that.
I also sent Andy @ Ironman4x4fab my front lower links so he could drill them out and tap them for johnny joints.. so once I get those back from him I will get front axle in and then start bracing and doing more on tube frame..

In other words, I didn't do much, but I wanted to show off my new lift...... :p

well had about 15 mins in shop today so I bolted on rear quarter panels

Man I have never changed paths so many times in a build before.. but I have done it again

After much discussion and looking at the amount of time I really have to tackle this build I realized I could either stay on track and in a few years be done and have a sweet ride or I could sell a bunch of what I have and just buy a wrangler that is slightly modified and wheel it and have fun and do other mods to that one down the road..

so I listed most of this stuff for sale I kept: axles, rims, inner locks, air shocks and dana 300.. everything is GONE..

I found a nice wrangler and I pick it up friday afternoon..

Here are a few pics of new jeep that I can wheel have fun and then mod later on.. but this way I get back on the trails with the family and kids asap

Good Looking Jeep, trail ready, nice suspension seats with harnesses, upgraded cage...... sounds like a winner to me!

exact reason why I got it

nice rig man, now a bench in the back for the kiddies

I put rear fender flares on to help with dirt and mud getting kicked up on the kids, put rear seat belts in and added stock rear bench already..next is pull out spool so wife can drive it and like it and build rear bumper and tire carrier

Nice YJ! Did you put TJ rear flares? If not, the factory flares will rub like a mother. Look forward to some updated photos. I'm tearing apart the NP231 I bought from you a while back to add a SYE this wknd. :D

for now I put YJ flares on it.. and I know they will rub but since this will be more street jeep for a while.. not to worried about it..

you don't trust the hack and tap? :) remember I had 38 TSL's on it and never had an issue..

Nice Jeep man, didnt stay away from wheeling too long. lol

never planned to go away.. but did think it would take longer to find a ride I liked :)

Ken, you need to get that thing all painted up pretty, and sell it to Brad. Then I will sell you my bass boat that I haven't got in the water yet 'cause every time I think about going fishing it either monsoons for a week or we have an emergency that needs attention. I'm ready to trade the thing in on a raincoat and pair of hip boots! :shaking:

BTW: Very nice rig! :)

Well we took out the jeep for 1st time as a family, and they loved it.. so this has turned out to be great..

had them on due to chance of rain.. and with this soft top the side windows and rear roll up into the bikini top..

Last thing I wanted was it to start pouring and they get all wet on first ride :)

when I got this jeep these fenders were mentioned but I forgot to really look at them.. well last night I just had to see them in action.. yup they rotate out of way to work on engine bay :)
