Also, Marsfab continues to make progress on the front end, working to squeeze Fox 2.5's around a full frame-

Like squeezing into a low cut, skinny fit, pre-shrunk pair of Prada leather pants, Marsfab was able to construct a way to get all of the Fox shock components and factory emissions equipment into the engine bay. Removing the inner fenders provided some mounting challenges, buts so far so good.

As an A-lister, there comes a responsibility of giving back to the community when you can. So when I saw this up and coming fabrication shop trying to make a name for themselves, I happily offered up the 4550 mall crawler for some product display. They talked about getting into racing as well, so I gave them all of the hair gel and teeth whitening advice I could, and wished them luck.

The shop was called GenRight, and there was a Tony Pelligrino there who was beyond extremely helpful. I think with just a little bit of styling cream, and possibly some Axe body spray, those guys may just have something going over there.





Tony and his crew milled down one of their sway bars to .875 for me, here's a shot of my Genright 1.06 bar next to the .875 bar:

Incredibly stiff at 1.06, the arms had to be shortened to 14", so we needed more twist in the bar.

The new shocks wouldn't allow for the arms on the bar to be the original 20" long. They could only be 14". Shortening the arms made the sway bar almost twice as stiff. Turning the bar down to .875 from 1.0625 softened it back up to very close to what it was before.

I got an email from my boss over the weekend with an Eastern Region meeting schedule for the next 12 months- his only question was did it work with my race schedule. At least I'm not high maintenance.


Speaking of work.... and Art imitating life- I was called out for wearing American Eagle jeans, a BR painted on shirt, and Sketchers at a recent after work gathering . I had to explain that I was actually pretty hardcore, and that was why I skipped the khakis. Its hard explaining how badass I am to my coworkers sometimes.





I picked up the Mall Crawler from Marsfab and after some flex testing in the rock garden, in true daily driver fashion, I drove it 52 miles home..... And then washed it, annnnnd then drove straight to the track. Spring rates might need to be changed out, definitely needs some tuning, but it felt good out of the box for a complete suspension change. Short day of testing, the rear driveshaft broke about 30 minutes in. Hopefully it won't keep me from the show and shine at Sonic on Friday.

Logged about 200 miles on the Marsfab setup so far, put enough jumps on the car to give me a sore back for a week , but no creaks, or vibrations to speak of. I think the first series in the triple bypasses will need some work, or possible revalve altogether. I'm getting some bouncing in the rear around 25mph to 35mph. Smooths out after that, smooth before, eats the bumps like a Trophy Truck, just needs some fine tuning.


The wife drove the 4550 back out to Marsfab yesterday for some post project work. A few little things that will make the transition from DD to Ultra4 back to DD more convenient.

I was right in the middle of being totally Alpha in the gym last week, and in between some super-set chest presses, I glanced out the window and saw the race jeep parked in it's usual parking spot- right in front. But today...... something just didn't look right. I looked in the mirror, then back at the jeep, then back to the mirror..... then back to the jeep.


Maybe it was because I was rock'n a serious pump, but looking out at the mall crawler, it just seamed lacking. The thing is though, its easy for me because of the supplemental POWER I ingest- Pre-work includes C4 pump, Red Bull, and a NOS. I sip on a Monster through out the lift, then cool off with an AMP energy to get my heart rate back down. But what about the jeep?



I came to the obvious conclusion that the Mall Crawler needed a Type R solution..............

This begins the next phase of the Mall Crawler Race edition, or Type R :grinpimp:

I had the motor shipped to my good friends at Liquid Iron Industries. As a huge fan of Tim and his crew's work, I'm super pumped for them to be cutting on the 4550.

One last trip to the emissions station for the annual checkup. Time to get things packed up for the trip to Jersey-

Tim @ Liquid Iron Industries went out and won the Line Mountain race on Saturday, then had my full drivetrain out on Sunday. He thinks by moving this along quickly, he won't have to deal with all of my non relevant gossip about the latest Esquire magazine (which by the way, Tim, had an amazeballs article on this years men's Summer fashion).


Non relevant? It's all relevant brah! Is pastel green in this year? Will it clash with my race suit?

It's like sitting front row at a Celebrity plastic surgeon- you know what ever is next is going to bigger, tighter, and more voluptuous.

Mall Crawler life.... It takes a lot of hard work to be this big of a poser. I've had several people reach out to me and they were all like "brah.... I get it, I don't have to actually be fast to snap necks at the mall, I just need to buy the shiniest parts with the most recognizable brands on them, and bolt them onto my rig." And I'm all like, yes, that is the first part, but if left alone, all that does is make you a douche. To be a Mall Crawler, you have to put in waaaaay more effort than that. So to help, I've put together a very complex pie chart that highlights my day:

So as you can see, it's a very complex balance of the most important things in life. I'm happy to go into more detail if you want to meet at my office.... And by office I mean my Selfie station at the South Park Starbucks.



And speaking of good looking, its really difficult to be hardcore when TSA is all going through your Louis Vuitton carry on at the airport because your supplements set off the Xray buzzer. I will say, it was an interesting conversation when the security guard pulled out my "C4" pre-workout powder.

And speaking of beef, some parts are starting to roll in for my C5TJLS1TypeR swap. Tilden LSx Oil Pan- This was the shiniest one we could find. I'm not sure what else it does.

And speaking of shiny, Tim at LII picked up the Advance Adaptors LS Swap radiator for the C5TJLS1TypeR. Gauge pod panel arrived as well, but we haven't decided on which gauges yet. Any suggestions on which ones are most baller?

And speaking of cleaning things up, I've had a few nagging issues as well that Liquid iron Industries is addressing. One of which was my seat spacers (I made spacers out of a TJ Transfer Case Drop Kit), Tim had some slick aluminum spacers cut to clean up the area a bit.

Racers, if you don’t have a murse yet, it’s like way past time you started thinking about the acquisition. With the 2015 season under way, some of you may already be realizing how difficult it is to juggle your autograph pen, your sponsor hats, your pocket mirror, and your teeth whitening strips. Enter, the Murse.


The murse (read: man-purse) is so hot right now- but, granted they do have their space limitations- there's only so much these track side fashion must haves can hold.

This powertrain swap for the 4550 is a perfect analogy-

Bracketology brah. Tim at LII did a little cutting before the Offroad Expo to get the motor/trans/Atlas in place. We swapped in some hugger headers to clear the 3-link which allowed the C5TJLS1TypeR to slide right in.

Clearance checked and passed, suspension cycles properly-

Gauges should arrive on Monday, hoping wire harness arrives Monday'sh as well.
