New Member Check In - Post HERE <------------------

new guy here in the raleigh area looking for a wheeling group to join, just another xj on 31s like most the other ones. I got a first gen cummins and tw200 too if any body is into that stuff. just looking for people to wheel with really.

Welcome!

CNC4x4 is local to Raleigh, among others, but I know a bunch of those guys and they're good people. Carolina Trailblazers has Raleigh members, but is NC and SC (and some TN, I think)-based.

You should come down to Uwharrie this weekend for the Jamboree, lots of clubs will be on hand and you can meet folks there.

CNC will be at the jamboree this weekend and then we have our quarterly meeting two weeks after that at jeep dealer on capital blvd. check out our calendar at cnc4x4.org

Howdy to everyone! My name is Lucas and I live in Franklinton, NC. I moved here three years ago from Rocky Mount, VA. I am currently a student at Wake Tech CC and have plans to transfer to NC State. I currently drive a 1995 YJ on 33s with the 4 angry squirrels under the hood. Wheeling has been in my family for quite some time. I caught the bug in 2001 when my dad bought a 1965 Dodge M37B1, which i drove to high school while I rebuilt the engine in the YJ. When we lived in VA we used to wheel the Potts Mountain trail up in the Jefferson National Forest. I am planning to head out to the cnc4x4 Spring Fling later this month with both of the rigs. See you on the trails!
Here are the two rigs mentioned:

Hi, My name is David Miller and I am from Binghamton, New York... a good leap from NC. The reason I signed up to the forum is because my girlfriend and I are planning/attempting to move down to NC in the near future. We have family down there and since were both in the market for new jobs, seems like a good time to say our good byes to NY and head south.

With that said, I was hoping the forum might help, not only meet wheelers in the area but also provide job knowledge in NC. I have been searching craigslist in all of NC but its still hard for me to put these employers in perspective. I am currently a welder/fabricator and also have my class A (also majored in Film/videography in college), but open to many job opportunities. Although, of course, anything dealing with off road would be first!

Anyway, on to the fun stuff, we own a s10 truggy of sorts, ive spent the past 4 years building, and rebuilding...till where it sits today. Before that, I had a 98 Cherokee which begun my entire addiction to crawling.

I would like to meet up sometime with some wheelers down in NC and try out the trails. Its about a 10 hour haul but would be worth it, especially with our efforts to move down for good.

We will also be coming down late may for about 5 days to job search and relax with family. If there is anything going on with any of the local clubs in the area during this time, we would love to stop by and say hello. Maybe some of you folks could also spin me in the right direction of good employment as well.

Welcome, I too moved here from NY. What part of NC are you coming to?

Thats just down the road and there is a great club called lake norman crawlers there. Post up when you get here and we'll see what we can put together as a meet and greet.
As far as moving...wherever employment would take us...but for this month..we will be near mooresville.

Also, this may sound odd, but I have no clue... Is there any snow during the cold months? My relatives have only lived down there a short time, and of course this winter was odd.... more of a freezing ICE rink than snow from what ive heard, but they were thinking the mountains might possibly present snow in the cold seasons?

The reason I am asking is because my truck was built specifically for the snow, (winter is also Stephs' and my favorite wheeling season). Obviously, we have already come to the conclusion that we might have to cut ties with our beloved deep snow wheeling/camping that NY has given us. But it would be comforting to know if there is a possibility of snow wheeling in or near NC.

The mountains do get snow not like your used to and the rest of the state may get up to 6inches on occasion but it usually only lasts a few days. The ice is what we get the most. But its gone just the same. Oh yeah when the weather man says ice or snow I hope you have your bread and milk cuz the stores will sell out, why I am yet to figure out.

Hello everyone! New to the forum and I'm moving back home to NC in a few weeks after being gone for 15 years (Air Force). CAN'T FLIPPIN WAIT! Anyway, I have a Jeep Jk Unlimited Rubicon on 38s and a big 6 door bronco on 39s (which I just posted for sale in the for sale section). Can't wait to get back to NC!

Hey everyone. Finally got a jeep after destroying mine over a decade ago. Rocking a '99 TJ, she needs a little TLC but very capable. Look forward to riding.

Its time to post up! Here in Concord, NC. Just got in today. Planning on leaving Tuesday, but in the mean time, browsing for jobs. Was wondering if the Norman guys were meeting up this weekend. Didn't know if Steph and myself could join for a bit to meet some wheelers and get some perspective.

Cool I'll make some calls and see if we can meet up.

Sounds good. Just P'm me. Ill be busy tomorrow later night and going to a baseball game tonight. I am kind of just going with the flow with my relatives, they have a few things set up... but other than that, ill just be driving around, job searching, hiking, and admiring the scenery.

New to the forum. Don't know why it took me so long to join.
Currently living in Greensboro. Just finished law school and am currently unemployed, in debt (jeep isn't helping) and studying for the bar.
