Turbo Solid Axle Tacoma Build

Sounds good...definitely take care of the exhaust before you go too much further.

catfish is right...detonation shouldn't be an issue in your case. I've got some videos of mine from Grey Rock where it was pinging like crazy on Tub Rock. At our "low" hp numbers and less than intense use the serious issues that tuners will tell you about really don't apply. Sure its nice to have it running perfectly, but don't beat yourself up over it as long as your AFR's are in the correct range.

Well I figured out my stalling issue. It's the atmosperic bov. I unhooked the vacuum line going to it and capped the intake port and I could clutch in whenever I wanted and it drop back to idle pretty smoothly. Hook it back up and it will stall unless I bump the gas a few times. Tial sells the recirculating base for $57 but since my bov isn't a true tial I'm worried that it wont bolt up.

With that being said, truck is still going lean when making a pull from time to time. Sometimes I can go WOT and have a nice AFR in the low 12's and other times it shoots up to mid 16's when I'm not even at 3/4 throttle yet and I have to let out

I guess I'll tack the last 8" of pipe I have on tomorrow. My flex joint should be here soon so I can finish it

Sweet. Chris said you're shooting for being at the flats...

I was. Looking like rain now and unlike most, I don't really enjoy it. The truck is still showing a lean at WOT from time to time (I worked on the exhaust leak and added about 8" of pipe today) but not nearly as bad as before. The Flats in the rain will be nothing but WOT haha

WOT on the road is nothing like WOT on the trail. Bring that pile and have a good time with good people! I'm gonna be there Friday around 1pm. Camping that night and wheeling all day Saturday too. Gonna be a great time!

When you say you're seeing a lean condition at WOT...is it just momentary? If so...that's fine. Don't over think it...we're not drag racing...

See that's the thing, it's never consistent. Sometimes it goes lean the comes right back down which from what I understand it normal because of it switching from closed to open loop. Other times it showing high 16's even 17 and doesn't want to come back down unless I let out. It feels strong, just has me worried. Hate to throw a rod right after I get it together

Why wound it come out of closed loop? Is that normal?

How long does it stay lean at wot?

I'm not sure but you'd think it should stay in closed so that its constantly in communication with the o2 sensor. I'm just going off what I've been told by a guy on another forum with a turbo 2rz

I have seen mine drop out of closed loop to open loop (driving conditions) if i hit the throttle three times. Also my O2 goes to 0 volts when this happens and I have a p0125 code. IM not sure if its supposed to drop out of closed loop or not, I ASSumed that it would stay in closed loop.

Interesting. Are you going to be at the flats? I think I am going to ride up for the day Sat. It would be awesome if we could get that Bluetooth obdii reader on here and maybe see what's going on. I don't think I could get one here before then if I ordered online

@clemsonjeep maybe if we get a set of fresh eyes on thing that might help as well.

I had not planned on going, but i would like to see your setup and pick your brain. I'd like to do something similar to mine and it really looks doable for my skill level.

How far from Mooresville are you? I have one of the elm adapters that everyone uses for the torque app if you need it.
