Turbo Solid Axle Tacoma Build

TG is going to warranty the input but want me to ship them broken parts first. Long story short I had to cut the shift rail and fork to get everything apart so if anyone knows of a top shift case I could get for cheap that would be great. The top shift conversion kit is around $114 and comes with a new rail and fork but hopefully somebody can help out

Lol this case is for Dylan's truck. I keep an eye out for a tcase, either that or get a hold of Royota on here.

Well my truck is a hell of a lot closer to being functional than his... He needs to make a sacrifice for the greater good.

I bet royota has 20 lol
We have a few broke cases floating around I will look and see what we have

A broken case would be ideal as I just need the rail and fork

Well I may end up going back with TG and just seeing if the will sell me a 23 spline input and a new coupler. I want to build cases with a marlin adapter and 23 spline chromo gears but but they are out of stock and from what I've been told they always are and I'm not trying to wait to get this thing back out on the trail.

That's right...put it together and wheel it!

And you were worried about throwing a piston out the side of the engine...geez. LOL

There's still a possibility of that... haha. Broke so fast I didn't even really get to see what it would do!

Just and update but TG is going to replace my 21 spline input with a 23 spline so all I have to do is buy a new coupler and some gaskets and I'll be ready to go. Shipped my input out today

Do you feel like you need the 4.7s? Can MC not just sell you the input/ gear? I'm familiar with them being out of stock on the 4.7s. I would've thought they would have fixed that by now.

Yeah 4.7's are a must IMO. I spend 90% of my time in 4.70:1,7% in double low, and the rest in 2.28:1. I would love to just buy and input from them but I'd still have to buy a new coupler and idk if it will work in my TG adapter. Since TG is sending a 23 spline input I should be able to get out of this for ~$200 for a coupler and gaskets

Gotcha. I've noticed most people running stock duals or 4.7's in one prefer whatever they have. I've ran both setups in different rigs in the past. By what you're saying you would only miss the 4.7's 7% of the time given that stock duals produce a double low ratio of 5.2:1, if you get what I'm saying there. I went from duals with 4.7s to stock duals and didn't skip a beat. I usually crawl in double low, trail ride and hill climb in single low and use high range for the rare road driving occasions. Just some food for thought.

I follow you. I spend most of my time in 4.7 so I'd have to be in double low nearly all the time with stock duals. 4.70 is great for trail riding and milder obstacles but it's nice to have that extra reduction with the 2.28/4.70 low when I get in a rock garden or some bigger stuff where I need all the control I can get to stay in the line

Gave @Royota a visit today. Man I could walk around that place all day! I got my shift fork and rail that I had to cut, a new fender, new door, some seat belt buckles, and a first gen pickup emblem for a buddy. Truly the holy grail of toyota junkyards haha

His place is great isn't it. I picked up the trans in my rig from him a while back along with some first gen fenders for a buddy. Just sent him a text this morning about a motor too...

No...but looking for a 22r/re for a buddy's rig.

I have a buddy with a 22r on propane and another buddy with a fresh reman 22re for sale. Both are doing 3rz swaps

What's he want for the fresh 22r I got a buddy with one that smokes alot lol

The 22r or the re? The 22re is the fresh one, I don't think the 22r has been rebuilt.
