Winter coming?

Well I have drifted (close to a full donut) in a HEMTT and a MK48, done donuts in 5-tons, drifted HMMWV's (AWD), so this year I guess I will see what a LMTV will do. They are supposedly AWD too so not sure how well they will do donuts. Will definitely have the RZR out in it too I am sure.

I guess I need to install a wiper motor on the LMTV so I can have windshield wipers that are not hand operated.

If I remember correctly, they are only awd when you hit the mode button on the shifter. I remember power sliding a 1088 a few times in Talil.

Nothing Easy about the money you are making, I say honest for sure. And you are right about the Suburbans. I have a 99 that goes like a tank. It is my snow ride. It has a limited slip rear. I upgraded from the weenie 10 bolt to a semi float 14 bolt several years ago, but it also had a limited slip.
My hats off to you for willingness to work like that. Back in my younger days, I hopped on my dads Farmall tractor and scrapped, where I couldn't scrape, I shoveled. I'm 56 now, I remember making about $2400 in lil over 26 hours, non stop except to com home and get some dry cloths on. I'd dump out my money and head back out. Mom would organize it all nice and neat in a old cigar box. WOW, to be young again with the body to be able to do that. Yes it was work, but, one of my fondest memories.
I gotta get it in before I’m too beat up to do hard work any more! Lol I love laboring work always have guess tobacco fields gave me that desire! I’m dedicating this year since I got a baby now to getting in best shape of my life at 35! Gonna be tough but def doable! Some good times out in the snow tho helping people makes me feel like I’m lil bit normal then I actually am haha

I was thinking they were 30/70 until you hit the mode button, then that made them 50/50. I bet a 1088 would be fun in snow with no weight on the back end.

So which one can I come get saturday afternoon?

I was backing one up a shale rock covered hill to hook to a water bufflo and nope definitely two drive. That mode button put it in 4wd and backed right up without a problem.

I'm right down the road in Foscoe, somehow we ended up getting 4 inches instead of the dusting I was expecting.
I usually take these big forecasts with a grain of salt, but am old enough to remember 93 very well. 6 days of shoveling to get out of my parents place.......

I was in Boone for that.

We lucked out, our neighbor worked at Hawksnest and they brought her home in one of the big ski slope plow trucks and cleared out our driveway afterwards. :)

I've got a shitbox cherokee on 33's with a welded diff and good heat... So I'm pretty hype for shenanigans.
Same here, I did finally get the winch wired in for those ditchers.....:lol:

Got the last big piece of my puzzle in place this morning. Gonna enjoy this! Lil Jake already has clained his spot!

Hopefully I don't have to call you to come rescue me if I am out driving around. I went and got a temporary tag for the 1078 yesterday.

As for preparation for the storm, I fueled up the generator today and found the fuel return line was leaking, so now I have to go tomorrow to get some new line and replace all the pieces of the old junk (it's a common issue). Also put a wiper motor on the 1078.

I've got enough wood on the porch for at least a month, half a load in the truck (traction 2wd), thinking about a set of chains. First season with this truck, last was a 2wd T100 always carried chains, went anywhere I wanted to. New truck should have had a set with it, inherited truck, the old man kept both sets for his truck! One old school set (cleated heavy duty) and the alpine sports (easy, quick, light duty). Might see if the parts house has a set, if not spend the money on beer and not worry about going anywhere.

Wife and I will both be working Sunday, then headed to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville Monday for my daughter's 8am appointment Tuesday. First time driving the new truck in winter weather and we get to go 600 miles.....

You and your family have been in my prayers for several months. I stumbled across your situation on fb and put 2 and 2 together and realized who you were. Good luck on the drive and the appointment.

Y'all be safe and please keep us posted. Continued prayers for your daughter.

Officially screwed Cantorie is coming to Boone! I bet there isn't a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk for sale in 50 miles!

yep, yesterday we went to Wallmart and Food Lion to do our "regular" grocery shopping and OMG, big mistake lol. Freaking looked like black Friday in there people running around like a mad house. Not even a bagel left on the isles LOL. It's sad how people are over little bit of snow. the lady at the register even said, "wow you're buying regular food groceries" haha. Even the 1/2 gallon milk was all gone. I guess I'm missing out on milk sammich

You've never had milktoast?!?!?!
You're not poor enough then.

I went to the Boone Walmart yesterday, and had to park at Puerto Nuevo.

Boone Fire Department put chains on the trucks already.

The Blue Ridge Parkway has already been closed.
