Round 2: Keepin' up with the Joneses, Mud Devils and Tony Woody

Got some rain coming so the buggy has its own canopy. It’s strapped down at all 4 corners, I hope it holds thru the wind. I think I’m going to get an all weather truck cover for it. View attachment 388802
wrong thread newb.
Move this pile back to yours

Turns out a 1970 VW Beetle cover fits mine perfect. $45 doll hairs on eBay. Sorry Jody…

Had a couple of hours after work today and (continued) chewing on the wiring side.
Installed the master cut off switch on the top center of the dash. Somewhere both driver and passenger can reach when harnessed in. It used to be in the bed by the battery. By moving it and the battery up front, it's safer and I saved loooong runs if battery cable
The harness from the SwitchPros panel to the "brain" was 10' long, I cut it down to 2' which allows plenty of room to remove the access panel for service.
No pics. But imagine a unibit going through a dash pad 😉

Whoever did all this sloppy wiring on MY Ranger over the last 9 years is getting a swift kick in the nads.😂
Wrapped up the day with a ton of progress. Really glad I gutted everything so I had the opportunity to do things correctly (not just years worth of "day before a ride" hack)

It runs.
It also leaks gas from the $$$ Earl's fuel hose I installed a few years ago. I guess sitting caused some dry rot
Replaced one failed fitting (I always buy 2 at a time), buttoned it up and found the pressure hose split coming out of the cell
Time to look on Summit and get some hose
Gonna go ahead and replace all of it from cell to fuel rail again.

always amazed that a stock car can last 20 years without replacing a hose but aftermarket hose on a project lasts 2-3 seasons

From what I understand the Teflon lined hoses last the longest

Gotta replace your hose from time to time.

Or so I hear 🤷‍♂️

That's exactly what I run. The good Teflon lined, ethanol resistant, braided stuff.
Gonna order 20' of it and 20' of 3/8 for the tranny lines too.

You can only replace them if you had any to begin with 😬

Damn how many hoses you got? That also sounds like a personal problem. I mean I only have one, and it is what it is, which is a personal problem  but it gets the job done :flipoff2:
