Granny 2: The Resurrection

WAY TO GO Don !!! You don't mess around!! Looking forward to wheelin' again with ya!!

Here's short update, no pics this time... since my last post I got all the stripped out torx-head bolts removed and replaced. I used 316 SS flat-heads for the windshield frame, and grade-8 hex bolts for the roll cage. I got my in-dash winch control wired in, and the York compressor is wired and running. I've done a lot of sanding and priming on the small cosmetic spots and now have it about ready for paint. Hopefully, the cage work will get started by week's end. I still have a lot to do with regards to sliders (step under door), front bumper & winch mount modifications, and rear bumper and tire carrier, etc. All that stuff can be done over the winter. At this time, I really do not expect to be on the trails again before spring. However, when I do get there I will be able to say that I did my best to do a good job on this rig, and hopefully I won't come across too many bugs. More as I get it done.

It's great how much you've gotten finished these few months. I was hoping you would be able to bring it out to the December ride but looks like I may not be able to make that one so I guess all good things come to those who wait! Keep up the good work. I would like to take the person who thought it was a Good idea to use the torx fasteners and ring their neck. They seep to always foil my estimation on time to wrench on my Jeep.

Another quick update... loaded and heading out for roll-cage work. M.O.B.S. Custom Fabrication (http://www.mobsfab.com) in Concord is doing the cage work for me.

This one's for Chip!!!

This past Saturday, at The Farm, I was told, in no uncertain terms, that my lack of posting pictures has become a serious problem, and regardless of what it was that I was doing... pictures were to be posted! So Chip, since the YJ is in the shop getting a cage, this is pretty much what I am doing right how. :shaking:

What kind of lure did you use?

OR is that the lure?

Don, this is Hilarious!! Very Well Done...Bravo Zulu !!

ROFLMAO!!!
You tell him Don!

I see your fishing technique is similar to mine - both involve carbonated beverages!

You're inspiring Don. Amazing work, and I'm sure it's going to be great on the trails, and I hope you enjoy the result as much as the process of putting it together. Can't wait to see the finished product!

I got a preview look at my new roll-cage this morning. I grinned all the way home.... and Chip, I will post some pics the first of the week when I bring her home. :)
