Toyota Monster Truck

things gonna be NICE!!! would love to see this thing one day.. cant wait to see this thing sitting on those tires. im the guy that was at 4wheelparts having them bother you about the runflats...lol thanks man.

i hope you have some rollers or a bigger back door :)

Truck

Thanks for all the nice comments! I do not have rollers but I do have a chain saw! I am hoping I can air down and get out. The other issue is going to be the width of the garage doors. The truck is going to be close to 102 inches wide with the new tires.

The truck should be pretty stable considering how tall it is . I figure the axles + wheels + tires should way more than the rest of the truck. Also the truck will be wider than it is tall which should help.

Will, when ever your ready with the tires will work for me. Also, I will call Brandon today to check on the status of the wheels and to see if they have the run flats with them.

Rollers

Will brought my tires over yesturday. Thanks Will! They look like they will fit up well... As you can see from the pics I stretched out the wheel base for better stability. Also check out how wide this truck is:

wow....that truck is tall. I would've kept the boggers and lowered it. You're soon going to find out how bad the 49" irocs bring the suck.

Not really my thing, but pretty cool in its own way.

how much are you going to have to take apart to get it our of the garage. I just noticed the doors look lower and not wide enough

Jeff, I think you have a knack for sounding like a dick when you dont intend to....just sayin. :flipoff2:

FYI, I dont think George intends to wheel the "Toyota Monster Truck" so, actually the 49's will bring exactly what they need to..the chicks!!! :flipoff2:

Yea I have knack for that. It's stance would be great for Monster truck status but I saw he was going to be wheeling it and I think it will be a bit wide and tall for most trails.
definetly some really nice fab work and lots of bling parts. It will definetly have the chics flocking to it!

You guys are funny... The chicks are out because my wife would put a stop to that.

The truck is nothing more than a play toy. Top Truck Challenge inspired vehicle. I plan to wheel it some, car crushes etc.....

I think it would be fun to hook up with Monster 4runner and Kraken some time. I spoke to Ryan at 4 wheel parts today about maybe doing a car crush at 4 wheel parts sometime with these two (I have not spoken with them yet but I am sure they would be in). Ryan thought that would be a great idea. So we will see. Just not sure when I will be done with it at this point. I still need a handfull of high dollar items and my budget is a little slim right now.

I can't wait to see that think launch and roll coal like Stones truck:driver:

Also, the pics are a little miss-leading. I am pretty confident It will clear the garage doors ok. Will and I were looking at it the other night and it should not be a problem. The doors are 8ft tall and 9 ft wide. May have to air down some. Also the truck should sit a little lower in the front. I still have a 250+ pound winch bumper, a 120 pound tranny, and a transfer case to be installed.

I have built several rigs in the past, however nothing this major before. It is hard to predict exact measurements when everything is custom like this. So I was not really sure how the stance would be until I put it all together. You have to rember the only stock parts are the body, frame and dash board. So there is a lot of different variables going on here.

Over all ,I am happy with the build so far. Thanks for all the comments

yeah, I need to get up with Stone sometime. Brandon at Rides says he is the man when it comes to adding ponies to these engines.

New 16.5 Wheels

After searching around for a while for some Rockwell bolt pattern steel wheels I decided to call Brandon at Rides of Conover.

He advised the cheapest approach would be using H1 military wheels.

I located 8 (12 bolt wheels) H1 wheels on Ebay cheap. I had them shipped to Brandon. We used the insides of the wheels to create four 13 inch wide wheels.

Brandon ordered rim stiffiners and wheel centers from Mud Pros. I was really impressed with the product Mud pros designs and stocks.

Brandon had the wheels welded up and ready to go within two days! His work was out standing. He is also very reasonable on his prices. I would definetly recommend him to anyone needing fab work done! Thanks Brandon! I took the wheels apart this morning and will be delivering them to the powder coater in about an hour......

mounting those us can be tricky with the 3 piece design...

First, if you are planning to run inserts, itll take you ~6 months from Stazworks or youll haveto build your own...

Also, i recommend using RTV/silicone on the orings, it holds them in place.... We put a set together this way that has been holding 10lbs of air for over a year...

I bet it's a work out movin those suckers around the shop.

I decided not to run bead locks for now. According to my wife, I am a 4x4 poser and I don't need them. It wont see any hard core trail use. Brandon told me to keep the tire pressure around 10 pounds and I would be fine. I also plan on putting some silocone on the O-rings the night before I mount them up. I appreciate the advise. George

Just make it easy on yourself and jack the axle up till you can pretty much just slide the wheel onto the studs....Still might help to have a few extra sets of hands around. The biggest thing that I've messed with was 44s on steel wheels but I bet you combo is a little heavier than that.
