What have you done to your rig today?

Or re-drill 2 holes?
We talked about that the holes would be dangerously close to the edge. He offered to build me two joints to get me on the trip to Harlan later this month so I could really hammer on these. He wants me to bend one. LOL!

Gotcha haven't heard from yall in the group text in awhile. Haven't heard from Ryan in a couple years. Rig looks good btw.
Yeah I'm headed up with @untchabl and @DirkaDirka875 i was out for 2 years doing some major upgrades and doing some other hobbies but SuziQ is back at it.

Started tinkering on the K3500 some; I've been trying to find a Class 5 B&W bumper hitch similar to the one on my red truck to install in place of (what I thought was) the factory hitch I removed in order to pull the bed off. Had a lead on a few, bought one that's meant for cab and chassis trucks, almost had one for regular trucks but it got sold.
So I decided to put the hitch back on, I need to get this thing where it can tow if needed; started to clean it up and throw a fresh coat of paint on it since I'll be pulling the bed and painting the frame, and in the process of prepping I noticed a sticker outline. Wiped it down with some mineral spirits and found this under the half ass paint job done by one of the POs

Makes things a little easier, I tried googling this but all I can find from Hidden Hitch is small ball mounts, and class 1-2 receivers. Anyone ever seen big hitches from Hidden Hitch before? I'm curious about the weight rating mainly, since it's a class 5 I assume it's similar to the B&W I have.

Got home from Florida about 6. Changed and went to work. 6:30 had the passenger joint in and went to work on drivers side. 7:30 old was out and new one in. Found a track bar bolt loose. Tighten that and am now in the house for a shower. I think it’s as ready as it will be for Harlan.

Mine is too time for so drive over fenders
Unfortunately, my sides are angle iron with a 3" leg going up. I have a idea of how to modify.

Took these original ball joints out of the tow pig and replaced with Carli lifetime ball joints. At 222k miles these did pretty well for stock stuff. Can tell the front end is tighter now.

Developed a hard clunk when turning left over a bump now... Might be time for a new track bar

Just about sold it !

My wife is a baker and does cakes for birthdays, weddings, etc and a friends husband came by Saturday morning to pick up a cake ….. he loved it and I priced it.
I think he would have bought it if he could fit in it, (big dude),

Gave it a bath considering nature refuses to do it. Also added some “yes these are my normal headlights but if you want to flash me I’ll show you my brights” driving li

I hear ya. When I bought my F150 the dealer warned me mine were bright and that if he drove it home at night he'd get flashed or middle fingers thrown at him.

He wasn't kidding.

I love 'em.

Me being able to see > You being able to see.

Until they can't see and run into you because of it. The technology is there for this problem to go away using adaptive headlights, but as usual our government is holding it back :dumbass:

The thing is mine are regular bulbs in regular headlight buckets. I spent the time and made sure they were aimed very conservatively as I know my truck is lifted but I still get flashed (not in a good way) all the time. Fuck people. I’m done being nice.

Well what’s out there now is pure trash. Auto dimming or whatever they call it is worthless. Rode with a buddy in his ‘24 F-350 and I about lost it at how horrible those headlights are in their function (or lack there of).

It absolutely is. My 15 has it and it was one of the first things I turned off when I bought it.

I hate the auto dimming ones because people just leave them on high beams all the time and they flash back and forth when they detect the least little bit of light. I'm considering putting some extra backup lights on with a switch just to keep their headlights on low beams.

Remember when you actually had to have some sense to drive and operate an automobile?

finally arrived.
