"Take 92" - YJ Linked with Nines

Well I am very happy to say that I saved up and spent some money and man was it so worth it. Got rid of the rear spool and but in an Arb and wow what a difference it is driving the jeep. The road and trail manners were awesome.

My turning radius is crazy tight and being able to lock them when I want was awesome while we were at bear wallow wheeling.

Spools are strong, and they're cheap.

And... that's about it. :D

Small project for jeep.

Took the jeep out to King of the Hammers. Walked chocolate thunder and even drove the ledge on sledgehammer. Jeep did awesome and was a great pit vehicle for the 4820 race team

Another racer blew his motor so we helped him remove it with the crane.

That's awesome. What does the jeep crane attach to on the front of the jeep?

I have to small tabs welded to the bumper. A bolt goes threw the tab to a tab on the long poles which allow the crane bars to rotate and become steeper if needed.

I know I could find your thread on the crane, but what material did you use, and the bar lengths? Ive been contemplating one for some time.

thats v2. first version was a stick of 1.5 .120 DOM tubing cut in half and it worked great (till it was bent up from a winch malfunction). v2 is a stick of 2" pipe cut in half. Its a little too heavy. Either one will lift 1k lbs or more.

How did Randell do in the EMC?

He completed the course in 10hrs 10 mins 1 sec

Missed finishing in the time allotted by 10min 1sec.

All in all he did awesome. Only thing we did in the pits was add fuel and check stuff. Never needed a tire and we never used a wrench to fix anything on the rig entire day.

Just completely the course is a huge accomplishment.

Bruiser pretty much nailed it. After a shock issue on Tuesday that required a complete redo of all of the rear shock mounts, things couldn't have gone better mechanically on race day. We started 41st and "finished" 49th overall and 32nd in class. Missed the official finish by 10:01. We stopped early on to help right a car that had rolled 3 times and got caught in traffic on several of the rock trails that cost us over an hour. We winched a couple times but other than that, no issues. Our speed was limited by suspension design/driveshaft issues being a trail rig and not a race car but Liberty Mountain Fab tuned the shocks for us that week and got it much better than it was on day one. In hindsight could've pushed harder to finish on time but our goal all along was just to finish. I'll do a lengthy write-up at some point but I'm back in the real world and haven't even unloaded my truck yet.

Every wished it was longer?

Had an awesome time at Rausch Creek this weekend. CNC4x4 had 11 people trail riding.

We did just a ton of trails I can't even remember all the names and even some brand new trails that just opened this year.

I did have a big oops when I grabbed 4th gear instead of reverse. But jeep is fine and I am fine so no biggy.
