"Take 92" - YJ Linked with Nines

WOW what a weekend..

Thanks @motobilt for a great 4 link kit

Took the kids and the jeep out to out clubs fall bash and had a blast..

The jeep did great with only issue the rear air shocks settled a little but nothing some nitrogen could not fix when we got back to camp.

here is the jeep at camp

here is our camp

I joined the "easy" group because I had the kids and did not want to push it to hard on the first trail ride. but I could have done the hard as it walked everything i tried with no issues..

My son enjoying the ride ( he kept saying this is AWESOME )

when we got back to camp we had some field games and I got a pic testing the flex on the rti ramp.. I ran out of rear shock or it could have kept going..so hopefully I will get some good pics of it really rock crawling on next trip out with just the guys

well nothing to huge going on but I did take the jeep out for a ride this weekend and I could not go over 35mph without the jeep wanting to go all over the road :(

so got it home and found out my toe in was all messed up.. here is how I fixed it by myself. attach a piece of wood to outside of each tire and that worked.

then I started to work on my ARB switch mounts.. the one thing I have learned from others is when wheeling if you can see the switches you forget if they are on or off.. so I sat in my drivers seat and looked around for the best location that I could reach when strapped in with my harness and here is what I came up with..

Maybe switch to decaf?

I put mine down in the typical TJ spot on the stock dash. The upside there is that they're easy to get to. The downside is they get bumped all the time and there's usually a bunch of other crap in the way.

I could not reach that area in the YJ and if down low the kids would either step on them or kick them when climbing around jeep.. so up high where I can reach them is the best atleast for now :)

happy to say we took the jeep out again this past weekend and it worked great.. climbed with no issues and road great on the trails.. I did fry the E2000 Fuel pump but once replaced it was back to driving fine again

buddy took a video ( not sure why he did slow mo) but hey atleast it proves it was on the trails :)

Hey Ken the build turned out nice. I am looking forward to seeing some more action pics.

dont worry I have a big trip planned for next year that will have some awesome pics :)

well took the jeep out and was part of the local Christmas parade here in Raleigh.. did a little tire stacking and had some fun.. the kids loved it..

the downfall was my arb compressor shorted a wire and i started to have smoke coming out of the dash :( so now I need to rewire the entire compressor ( that stinks )

finally started to fix Jeep and get tread for the 2015 wheeling season

Replaced air intake to get it off the top of valve cover ( no pic yet )

and then started to replace ARB wiring since I burnt it up.. last part I need to do now is get a bew switch so ECGS looks like I will be stopping by

How'd you manage that? Electrical short or external heat?

one of the plastic terminal came out of zip tie and fell onto compressor and it felted which caused a short :(

After buying a new wiring kit and rewiring the all the wires back into dash etc, the compressor still would not work so did some more testing and guess what the compressor is also fried :( so back to ECGS and picked up a new one and now it all works again

here is a link to the ARB page I used to make sure I wired it correct

quick pic of how the air intake is setup now

after a little bit of driving and wheeling I found my trac bar was just barely touching an upper control arm mount so I need to notch it for clearance.

the trac bar is 2" tube that is .250 thick so I was not worried about strength and cutting it up.

so cut a hole out and made a plate to cover and welded it back up.

How'd you get that to pass inspection?

Mine's been sitting on jack stands since January because I still haven't finished the fawking exhaust.

How do you like that muffler? Does it help with the sound at all?

I have not driven it yet.. hope to after I install a few more things this week

Got a part # for that muffler? Going to need something similar on the Yota here shortly.

Dynomax 24250 Race Mini Bullet Muffler

I bought it on Amazon

I'm also interested in how that muffler sounds. Looking forward to an update once you get to try it out
