We Bought a RV Clark!! Oh no! Rebuild thread

No doubt about that, he will have a better built RV and know exactly what he’s got. I personally don’t have the skills/tools/help/time/space for a project like that. But I very much admire the hard work put in.
Hopefully Dylan gets many years of good service and memories with it!

Harlan is in August...... hurry it up! Let me know when you do that work party, I’ll try to come!

August will be pushing it on the rv build completion. My real work has a 2 month or more back log and seems to be growing. Which is great really.

I plan on being in Harlan with or without the rv.
:D

I can’t wait to hang out with you! You bringing Ella? It’s up in the air of my family is coming or not. Most likely not, as my wife won’t tent camp at the Dairy Hut, cabins are booked up, and I plan to wheel mostly harder trails.

Dylan, as you already know, you (and yours) are one of our many adopted kids. I/we wouldn't be mean to you for the world, but the other night, on the news, I saw a motor home similar to yours that was slightly altered due to a big tree laying on top of it. I looked over at Darlene and said that would be a perfect second project for Dylan. It was already partially disassembled!!! :D

You're doing a darn fine job! Keep on truckin'!!! :)

Haha..thanks Don. Thanks for thinking of me, but one more project would push me over the edge and I'm not above dragging you with me pal . :shaking:

Give Darlene a hug from us!

Here's a few!

Started digging into the back wall. Was going to strip all the foamboard and rotted panels off of the fiberglass, but it didnt take long to decide that I'm going ALL new. New frp shower panels already purchased.

We broke out about 60 bucks worth of stay-put glue and got the drivers side fiberglass stuck back to the side of the rv. Gluing a couple feet at a time, and using a push broom to mash it as we went, seemed a bit safer than gluing all of it at once.

What an amazing amount of work.
What is the secret to getting all these great folks to help you? (Pizza? Beer? Both?)
Thanks!

The secret is called...paycheck.
One true friend, Kieth, helps out alot for free. The other 2 guys work for me full time. When we work on rv, its outta my pocket. Other than my wife and kids, I think we are the only ones to touch the rv.

I'd love to have an all out work party. Get a bunch of folks together from here and get a bunch accomplished. Id be happy to supply beer and drinks, food etc... I dont know if I could get much interest though. I still have sooo much to do, but itll get there.

I need to catch up on a few updates.

This is at the back, under the bed hidden from everything. Plumbing, water pump, waterheater, drain lines, fill lines. This is essentially the heart of the plumbing. Its filthy under here. Old musty carpet is under everything. This process will be a real pain, but im going to take it all up and remove the nasty stuff.

Im worried about some of these plumbing swivels and some of the repairs that were made along the way. Since I have perfect access, I figure its best to make repairs now.:D

This waterline (blue dots)was added during a repair, it did the trick at the time, but im gonna make it all better now. Also, these fittings(circled in blue) have seen better days. Im adding shiny new ones to help insure there's no future leaks. Its a peace of mind thing.

My buddy Brad stopped by. He's a plumber and that makes him a good buddy to have. Seamingly, without much thought, he just started cutting pipe and busting rings. He had everything I could need right there on his truck.
And before long, he had replaced most all of trouble spots.

New cutoffs and swivels. These go into the hot water heater.

And we replaced all of the swivels and made a permanant repair where the water supply line had been added.

Don’t forget a pulsation loop in the plumbing coming from the pump discharge. Looks like that long loop may have been it even though it looks like a repair of some sort.

Repairs are looking good.

Ummm..pulsation loop? Never heard of it. Please explain.

So..i need a loop in it?
The loop that was there was a simple water supply line. It wasnt factory at all.

Heres another little project that happened.
These doors were removed from the bedroom cabinets. I wont be reusing these in the bedroom. So I repourposed them to cover my custom storage space under the stove. One door by itself is not large enough to cover the hole, so I used both of them.

Measured and drilled holes in the sides, added glue and dowels. Now my 2 doors move as one. They're perfect!

Mine doesn't have a loop.

I'd recommend adding a small pressure tank if you have the opportunity. It'll act link a hammer arrestor when the pump kicks on, and will hold a small amount of water to keep the pump from kicking on so much.
